Sometimes you stumble upon situations so awful that you can't help but smile. It's like your brain tries to process the sheer magnitude of chaos and just resigns itself to fate, opting for amusement as a coping strategy.
But then, you suddenly become aware that it's not really actually that amusing. It's just plain horrifyingly awful. And the laughter you felt morphs into a sigh.
In the end, you are left with a sense of utter perplexity. You start ruminating about the meaning of it all. Was this some kind of twisted art experiment?
Or were we just living in a simulation gone wrong?

Dreadful Day Ever
It all started with my case of uncontrollable hair. I couldn't figure it to look right. As I was scrambling out the door, I stumbled and dropped my lunch all over my new shoes. To make matters worse, I was extremely late for school.

It all started out horribly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then everything went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me Very bad feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to run away and hide.
